Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) River Ice Surveillance (SARRIS) is a

product from the National Water Center derived from Copernicus Sentinel-1 SAR satellite imagery. Ice classifications will contain some measure of uncertainty due to the ephemeral speckling nature of SAR backscatter on water surfaces, especially large bodies of water that can be affected by wind. Red polygons contain NWC Remote Sensing Analyst Notes which help provide context to the product classifications as well as noting other sourced areas of interest from electro-optical satellites and ground reports.
